There are many methods for promoting a website on the Internet. As a rule, all this many methods are divided into search and non-search. This article explains what search methods of website promotion are and how they differ from non-search. Search engine optimization as a method of website promotion In the most accessible language, a search engine is a special service implemented on a special website that allows an Internet user to find the information he needs. The user simply enters a query in the search form and clicks the “Find” button, after which he is given a list with pages of various sites where the word and / or the phrase entered in the search form occurs. You can search for anything: “air-conditioners”, “fortune-telling” … On the international Internet, the most popular are Google, Bing and Yahoo. In the search results, there may be thousands of pages where a search query occurs, and the user who receives such a huge list starts viewing it from the top down, since it is considered that the content of the page that got to the top most closely matches the search query and it is there that the most reliable and unique information. As a rule, the user does not view more than 20 pages, issued by the search query Accordingly, when speaking about commercial activities on the Internet, it becomes clear that more visitors, and therefore buyers, get those pages and sites that are at the top of the list (in TOP20, and especially in TOP10). The question arises: how does the search engine place pages in search results? It depends on the rating of a particular page in the database of the search engine. The crawler continuously “bypasses” and indexes (inserts into its database) pages of sites and analyzes them for relevance (matching) to a particular search query. The more times a particular word appears on a page, the more the search robot considers it more relevant to this word, ie, the position of the page in the rating is primarily affected by the content of the page. In addition to the content on the page rank in the base of the search engine affects: how popular this page is and how often it is visited by users (page traffic); how many pages on the Internet refer to this page; what are these referring pages; how often this page is updated, etc. A higher rated page is most valuable to the visitor The methods used by search engines to form the reing are kept secret, but the main steps to promote the resource in the TOP are known. To promote the resource in the TOP use search engine optimization, i.e. lead pages of the site to the ideal relevance for a particular query. For example, for a shoe store website, they optimize the page for a request to “buy shoes”, this page raises its rating in the database of search engines, and the target customers come to the store’s website and enter “search for shoes” in the search engine – which else you can wish for! Stages of search engine optimization: preliminary analysis of the site; the definition of search queries for which you want to promote the pages of the site. Even for large projects, this number should not exceed 100-150 requests. At this stage it is necessary to find out how many people are interested in this topic. correct the list of search queries based on the results. If the search query is asked tens of thousands of times, this is either taken into account in calculating the cost and timing of search engine optimization, or trying to find a narrower query. For example, do not “buy shoes”, and “buy women’s shoes” or “buy shoes inexpensively.” To check on these requests sites of competitors and to analyze them; determine which pages of the site will match the selected search queries – these pages will become some “inputs” to the site; check the content of the “input pages” for the presence of a search query in them; to carry out a number of activities for registering pages in catalogs and ratings, to start exchanging links with thematic sites, and so on. There are a number of methods that allow you to quickly bring your site to the TOP, but these methods are “out of the law” for search engines, and for their use the site is excluded from the database search engine. We do not use such methods, even if the client strongly insists on them.
